27.8.2021 At 9am on the 27th August 2021 we were finally ready to depart Vacciago by bike. This was after three postponements of our trip, which was originally planned for June 2020. All the bookings were moved first to September 2020, then to June 2021, only to have to be moved again to August 2021. William had arrived by car (on Wednesday 11th), and David had arrived by air at Malpensa on Saturday 21st. We were not sure of our overall fitness - getting that focus is difficult in covid times - but we did a training cycle to Borca with 220m climb up to Agrano on Sunday 22nd, and a clockwise circuit of Lake Orta on Wednesday 25th. So finally we were ready to depart...
